Hometown Heroes Banner Program

The Township Committee is authorized the Hometown Heroes Banner Program through Resolution adopted on March 16, 2023. The Township Committee will offer the opportunity for the families of Warren Veterans to honor their military service by authorizing a Hometown Heroes Banner program as a living tribute for the family and the community to honor past and present members of the armed forces and their family members.

The Township has 72 light poles in the town center under Township ownership will be utilized for the program and provide 144 potential sponsorships utilizing both sides of the banners.

Application for sponsors which shall contain at minimum the following information 

• Name of Honoree 
• Rank 
• Era War or conflict served
• Branch of service 
• Status (KIA/MIA/POW) 
• Medals (Purple Heart/ Silver Star, Bronze Star or other)
• Photo of Honoree at the time of service.  Please note the photo must be 150dpi.

Cost of the sponsorship will be $130 (Convivence fee will be charged for credit card transactions)

Purchasing of the banner can be done through the paper application or online through CommunityPass.

Honorees or their family members sponsoring the banner must be residents of Warren Township at the time of the sponsorship.

Sponsored banners shall be posted for 5 years or as long as the banners are in proper condition as determined by the Superintendent of Public Works, whichever is more. The Township, subject to the reason for the damage to the banner, may replace banner at the Township’s cost.  Banners applications will be accepted on a first come first serve basis.

Hometown Hero Banners will be displayed from, on or about May 15 of each year to on or about June 25 of each year and from, on or about November 1 of each year to on or about November 25 of each year.
