Whether your child loves to build things or destroy them, this week of camp includes lots of both! The junior Mad Science engineers will design and build Bridges and “Skyscrapers” and even construct a Geodesic Dome big enough for all the campers to sit inside! Then the machine madness starts… This journey will include in-class experiments such as a water powered turbines illuminating a light bulb, fuel cells cars demonstrating efficiency, and how many different machines, simple & complex, we use in our daily lives.  Campers will have fun building their own Catapults, Sonic Race Car and more to take home from this Awesome Camp!

Spend this Summer playing with our super cool Red-Hot Robots!.  Discover the world of robots as we investigate the differences between humans and their robotic counterparts- Campers will learn how robots use infrared and other sensors to discover their environment.  Invent your own robot designs using recycled materials.  Finally- Use your hands- on skills to build your very own working Robot to Take Home to “LIVE” with You!

Lego Star Wars & Motorized Mechanisms:   Lego enthusiasts, have fun building your favorite adventure from a Star Wars galaxy that is far, far away.  Star Wars projects will probably include most of these NEW models which will vary by age level:  Republic Swamp Speeder, Freeco Speeder, Echo Base, Arc-170, Corporate Alliance Tank Droid, Tie Defender, Droid Trifighter, Separatist Shuttle, Y-wing Star fighter, Venator-class Republic Attack Cruiser, The Battle of Endor, Republic Attack Shuttle, Echo Base, Hyena Droid Bomber, Clone Walker, Assassin Droids, Republic Gunship, Magna Guard Star-Fighter, Rogue Shadow, AT-TP Walker, X-Wing Fighter, Darth Vader’s Tie Fighter, Midi-scale Millenium Falcon, Pirate Tank, Ahsoha’s Star Fighter & Droids.  We will also continue to stock the best of the some of the older models.   Students will also build a wide assortment of motorized Lego machines with the new Lego education motorized mechanisms curriculum that is designed to teach students just how those complex machines work.  Topics include simple machines, mechanical advantage, gear ratios, and a host of others. 

Then, Enter the world of robotic engineering as we set out with a program of exploring, designing, and building robots.  Students will use the Robotix  system to design, invent, and construct robotic creations from their own imagination.  Students will build robots designed to meet a wide array of interesting challenges throughout the week.  These include our robot Olympics, Battle-Bot competition, robo-bowling, tractor pull, and more. This is a stimulating enrichment program and not geared as a teacher-driven education class.  All students will take home a Lego Star Wars project or two Hex Bug Robots.  Projects offered will depend on availability from the Lego HQ, and students will not build all projects listed.
