FIRST TRAFFIC LIGHT
[From Warren History, Volume One, No. 8, Fall 1992]

Does anybody out there remember the day Warren was blessed with its first traffic
light? "Today's the day which will go down in local history as the day Warren
Township took one more giant step away from the rural farmlands of days gone by,"
wrote the Echoes-Sentinel on Sept. 27, 1973. "Today, Thursday, at 10 am, motorists
approaching the Mount Bethel Rd, Mountain Boulevard, Warrenville by pass will be
halted by the first traffic light to turn on [in] this town. It's all in the name
of progress. Warren has become of age."
