1817 FREEHOLDERS LIST HELPS FILL CENSUS GAP

The loss of New
Jersey’s census records prior to 1830 has bedeviled researchers for
generations. An 1817 list of Warren Township freeholders (land
owners paying taxes) abstracted by Dorothy Stratford of the Somerset
County Historical Society helps fill the gap. Researchers should
note that the following list is not complete:
