Brush Clean-up Update

As of January 3, 2012, the Department of Public Works staff with the assistance of 2 private contractors to provide assistance, have completed removal of debris on 213 of the 323 township streets or 70% of the township.  Residents can review the map (link below) to view the completed streets.  If we have not completed your road, please make sure that the brush is placed behind the curb and not in the street.  If the brush is placed in the street it could be a problem if snow arrives before the brush is cleaned up. 

We anticipate completing the entire township by the end of January 2012.  The amount of debris has exceeded our original estimate for the time required to complete the project.  We thank you for your patience.  If you have any questions, contact the Department pf Public Works at 908-753-1223.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

After touring the tree damage throughout Warren Township and listening to the concerns of residents, the Warren Township Committee has authorized the Warren Township Department of Public Works to remove and chip trees placed in the Right-of-Way beginning on Monday, November 14, 2011.

The following restrictions will apply:

1)                  All trees must be placed along the curb line on the lawn.  No trees may be placed in the street.

2)                  Public Works will only pick up trees that are 4 inches in diameter and cut no longer than 10 foot lengths.

3)                  Each street will be picked up only once beginning on November 14^th through the end of November.  Trees must be placed at the curb prior to November 14 as a precise schedule cannot be provided.

In order to ensure the safety of the residents, trees should not be placed in the roadway in order to allow emergency vehicles to access all homes.

Warren Township has 120 miles of roads and 323 municipal streets.  Your patience during this removal process is greatly appreciated.

Please be advised that the Township has been made aware that some insurance companies provide coverage for the removal of trees and loss of food.  Please contact your individual carrier or agent relative to your homeowner’s insurance.
