Warren Township REMEMBERS 9/11 On Sunday, September 11, 2011 at 9:00AM, the Warren Township Committee will conduct a ceremony remembering those who perished on 9/11/01. The ceremony will be held at the site of the Township’s 9/11 Heroes Memorial at the Municipal Complex, 46 Mountain Blvd. Refreshments will be served following the ceremony. The event will be hosted by Warren Township Deputy Mayor, Mrs. Carolann Garafola. Remarks in the ceremony will be offered by the Mayor, Gary DiNardo; Russell Leffert, Chief of Police, and former Fire Chief, Timothy McGowan. The invocation and benediction will be led by the Reverend Brent Haggerty of Stonecrest Community Church of Warren. The Township Committee looks forward to the public joining them on Sunday, September 11, 2011 at 9:00 AM as we Honor the heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice on 9/11. |

The 2010 9-11 Memorial Service was conducted on September 11 at the flag pole on the grounds of the municipal complex to recall the memory of those who perished at the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. The occasion also served as the kickoff for a fundraising campaign to construct a “9-11 Heroes Memorial Monument” to be dedicated next year on September 11, 2011, at 9 AM which is the Tenth Year Anniversary of September 11, 2001. (more details here) Assistance will be sought from various construction companies’ for in-kind support and to facilitate building the structure so that no tax dollars will be used to erect this monument. Anyone interested in assisting with the monument or to make a financial contribution, please complete the DONATION FORM (available here) and make checks payable to: “9-11 Memorial Fund” and mail to: Community Volunteer Fire Company, c/o 9-11 Memorial Fund, 14 Community Place, Warren, NJ 07059.
