CERT Graduation November 29, 2010 Warren Township Office of Emergency Management is pleased to announce the graduation of 29 new CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) members on Monday night November 29 at a ceremony at the Warren Twp. Courthouse. CERT volunteers are ordinary citizens who supplement and support their area’s first responders. The volunteers undergo an eight week emergency management training course which includes learning basic skills in fire suppression, first aid and triage, search and rescue and disaster psychology. Warren Twp OEM would like to thank the Mt. Bethel Fire Department and the Warren Twp. Rescue Squad for their incredible support and help in teaching the classes. The course was organized by Warren Twp. Police Officer and CERT Team Captain Joe Casorio in coordination with CERT Team member Andy Logan. Course completion certificates were given out by Mayor Vic Sordillo, and Warren Township Committee members Carolann Garafola and Mal Plager. NJ Jersey Citizen Corps Coordinator Captain Howard Butt of the State Police also presented the new members with CERT bags of equipment including vests, helmets, goggles and other emergency supplies. Warren Recreation Commission holds 2nd Annual Yuletide Bonfire
Saturday, Jan. 23rd over 300 residents gathered to socialize with neighbors, ice skate and enjoy music and refreshments. They roasted marshmallows and smores; children played on the new playground and took advantage of the warmth from the bonfire and fireplace. “This is a wonderful intergenerational event where everyone can enjoy something!
The Recreation Commission would like to thank the volunteers who helped make this happen. Township Committee woman, Carolann Garafola; Recreation Commissioners Karen Manner, Chris Brennan and Mary Ellen Florey, Cub Scout Pack 182, Boy Scout Troop 228, Girl Scout troops 825, 512, 928, 65-197 Warren Blueridge Hunting Club, Warren Fire Dept. bonfire), Warren Rescue squad & OEM, also the numerous teens, parents and Senior Citizens who helped setup and serve.
We could not run this free event without the generous donations from the Warren Blueridge Hunting Club, Girl Scout Troops 825, 512, 928, 304, Boy Scout Troop 228, Cub Scout Pack 182, Lions Club, Bob Marino, Warren StarBucks, Greenbrook Plaza Dunkin Donuts, Forest Lodge, Anderson Arbor Care and Country Squire Restaurant.

Congressman Lance To Present Flag & Offers “Mobile Office” At Library Press Release: On Wednesday, January 6, 2010 beginning at 9:00 AM, Congressman Leonard Lance of the 7th Congressional District will be at the Warren Township Library to present the Township Committee and the Library with a United States Flag that was flown at the Capital. In addition, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, representatives from Congressman Lance’s office will be available in the library to offer residents a local mobile office, offering paraphernalia to any resident having difficulties with federal programs. The representatives will have applications and information available concerning Medicare, Social Security, Immigration, IRS forms, or any other federally funded program. Residents are encouraged to attend if you are having any difficulties with federally funded programs, who are seeking answers and need assistance with these programs. Congressman Lance’s office will follow up and be in touch with residents upon completing their investigations.
